Clear, Fair and Transparent Pricing

Drawing on my experience in housing, landlord and tenant, family, commercial, and county court disputes, I provide practical, reality-based mediation to help parties find a solution before incurring the further costs, delays and uncertainty of litigation."

One of the most common concerns for parties in a dispute is the cost of resolution. Litigation can be expensive, time-consuming and uncertain. Mediation offers an opportunity to resolve disputes quickly and cost-effectively, avoiding the substantial legal costs and risks associated with court.

At Open Mediation, I believe mediation fees should be straightforward and predictable. Unlike some mediation providers, I do not increase my fees based on the financial value of the claim. Every dispute matters to those involved, regardless of the amount in issue, and I believe parties should know from the outset what the mediation will cost.

My fees are designed to be affordable, transparent and proportionate.

What the Fee Includes:

Unless otherwise agreed, mediation fees include:

  • Pre-mediation brief discussion with the parties.

  • Initial review of the dispute and relevant documents should be limited to an A4 position statement from each party for pre-litigation issues. If proceedings have already started, I need to see an agreed bundle between the parties and either a position statement or statement of case, depending on the case management of the bundle.

  • Preparation time;

  • The mediation session itself.

  • Drafting and recording any settlement reached during the mediation.

There are no hidden administration charges.

Standard Mediation Fees:

Remote (Online) Mediation

Half-Day Mediation (up to 4 hours)
£500 per party

Full-Day Mediation (up to 8 hours in one day)
£1000 per party

In-Person Mediation

Fees are available upon request and will depend on location, venue requirements, and the number of participants.

Multi-Party Disputes

The fees above apply to mediations involving two separately represented parties.

For disputes involving multiple parties, landlords or tenants, management companies, local authorities, or other participants, please contact me for a tailored quotation.

Additional Time

Most mediations conclude within the agreed session period. However, where all parties wish to continue beyond the booked time, additional mediation time can be provided by agreement.

Any additional time is charged at £180 per hour per party.

Flexible Payment Arrangements

I recognise that some parties may face financial constraints, particularly in housing and property disputes. In appropriate cases, flexible payment arrangements or staged payment options may be available.

If cost is a concern, please get in touch to discuss the options available.
